Both times I called my agent and they handled everything start to finish without me lifting a finger.) in one case they actually sued the supply line maker, settled out fo court for $15k and they refunded me my deductible and took the $20k loss I carry $5k deductibles as I don’t plan to make a claim under $15-$20k.My average premium is around $600/year for $270k properties with 300/300 limits (the umbrella requires those limits this year, I hear they’re going up to 500/500 next year.)

To have to pay around $300 for the inspection plus the filing fee with the city and to have to go through it all again in 6-7 years seems like a money maker for the city and less like something to "help" renters.
