I can't tell you whether you should make the deal or not, negative cash flow is difficult to sustain, but as long as you reasonably know you'll keep your job until you can refinance, it seems doable.

So if FHA is doable, you don't need that kind of money (60K) unless you are buying a $1.7 mill property (3.5% of 1.7 mill is 60K..), which I hope not..
