K.marie P.I have never heard of any prescriptions requiring smoking, and like you, I can't imagine any legitimate medical reason for such.For the time being, I think the regular 'no smoking' clause is sufficient.

This doesn't mean you don't have a legitimate claim or can't file a complaint with the attorney general but there is no licensing board that will care from a carpenter/contracting standpoint.And be careful what details you share online.

You are fortunate that your tenant is not in the middle of a lease.You are correct, just because you are selling a home, with a legitimate  lease in place, does not mean you can just kick them out unless you had a special clause in the lease that stated that

I made the house into 2 units where I live in the basement unit, and I finally rented out the top portion of the house for the first time, 4 months ago.Find the county split between land/ improvements for 2011Allocate the same ratio against the 85k you spent on it If you can substantiate the $60k you spent and it was all legitimately spend making the rental unit Add 60k to the depreciate total.

You can give a legitimate reason why you don't agree or can't comply with the Section 8 contract....could be for lease length, terms, or physical property condition requirements, etc.Be careful as it is still very easy to "discriminate" even if that's not your intent.
