Edit: home is heated by gas furnace.After 2 months of research & asking around, we will hire a trusted friend with 20 years of handyman/flooring experience to do the works (everything from Remove Carpet, redo underlayment floor, install new flooring).

When I did preliminary vettings, if I expressed an opinion they're not what I'm looking for, I get into heated arguments over discrimination.
