I've floated across careers/jobs in new home construction (worked in the structural warranty side), fitness, and travel - I've always loved to learn and grow myself, but I have not built much for "retirement" (though not sure I will ever retire, I love entrepreneurship), was recently divorced and I'm around 40 - so I have a road ahead and all...so definitely want to grow some decent rental income within 10-15 years, but I was considering fix and flip for not only diversity, but it sounds like fix and flip might be a great way to get some capital, which I don't really have at this point.

@Susan TanThe quick mortgage pay off makes sense and a 15yr fixed definitely fits the bill better than a 30.I was actually introduced to my mortgage broker by my realtor, but I’ve seen many bigger pockets posts looking for “Great lenders in my area”.

If that wasn't done and the split is an amicable one, then presumably a buy out is negotiated among the participants which can be structured as the parties see fit.

I will check with a contractor to see which one costs less but I really like your layout b better, the house already has a porch for the front door, with moving the front door it'll be a bit tight fit but it's possible to keep the front door under that porch, the house already has 2 windows 1 where you put the window and one where put the stove, and there's a door that takes you outside from that side and a nice porch too, by high ceilings do you mean vaulted ceiling ?

Unfortunately you need to have volume in order to attract qualified individuals to work in-house.In the end my advice would be to pay for a good contractor and add time for them to fit you in their schedule.
