WHile im supportive of the policy, and knowing who is in the neighborhood, a yearly fee to keep an excel spreadsheet, with a fine, seems to me to be a profit point for the HOA management company.  

Learning how to learn, relationship building, negotiation,  Marketing, sales, customer service and design are all skills that can applicable to any field or career.

It's probably just psychology @Jay Helms, but knowing friends/family in a different context other than investing/business is difficult for me because of that relationship where money and investing isn't talked about as much.

I was surprised that they wouldn't do it, despite having excellent credit, and considering that one unit would be owner-occupied and taking into account the rental income.
