Chose the one closest to us, Raleigh, only 2-3 hours away from where we lived at the time, and took a few weekends going down and familiarizing ourselves with the area, took current listings and drove the neighborhoods before contacting any agents, got comfortable with the area, decided on neighborhoods.

At present, I'm only interested in duplexes that I could house hack(Wife &I live on one side) on the east side which is closest to both our jobs and in area that the wife is comfortable living in.

@Jonathan Johnson the best you may be able to do is partner up with  one of the many disaster aid agencies that will descend on the area like Red Cross or Samaritans Purse.

As you go up in size with pex the difference becomes greater. 1" pex only has a ID of .862 which is further reduced to .625 with a fitting.

The IRC, if used and understood correctly, is the closest thing to a comprehensive 'how-to' guide... not the easiest to jump in to, but anyone who wants to engage in construction related activity needs to have this resource and know how to use it.If you're still using 2006, you need to check your liability.
