It only grows when it has access to moisture and a food source (dust, food, etc.) and will go away if you remove either of those.

If it were mine I'd have a licenced electrician come out and inspect the work, and bill the resident for the cost of the inspection and any needed modifications to bring it up to code.Same with the plumbing--licenced plumber inspection and if needed bring it up to code--or if you want--remove it.Right off the bat he does this--on his own, this resident might do a lot more of these (just do it) modifications to YOUR Asset.I've seen where a renter added an entire covered porch to a house..un-permitted...design quality (drunken home made) construction quality (drunken child's fort).

(OR) Negotiate with him for a months worth of food...just ask him what he spends on food every month and offer that plus a bottle of wine for his troubles...b/c in reality staying in a motel might be more hassle than staying in the unit.Free food and the free rent you're already giving him--my guess he will (Bite Into) that offer (and it might be less than a motel).Good Luck!

Sad to say, there is a certain ethnic group that cooks everything they eat by boiling all their food in grease and these people destroyed this house with the grease on the stove, kitchen cabinets, walls, ceilings and cleaning all the grease was very depressing.
