I was just looking at the competition on Vrbo and noticed the 5.0 ranking has been changed to a 10.0 scale.When did this happen?

We grew up on the River and then Leonard Lake - I understand and agree about the winter - I live in Victoria BC right now, but have debated owning a lake front property in Muskoka - trouble is, with the changing Short Term rental situation, could be difficult to take on - I would love to go there in the summer for example. 

Just make sure you inform yourself on how hard money works for flipping and be ready to move fast on your project as you will have limited time to finish your project before the note is due. 

So technically you need to file if anyone changes as I recall.Also, I suppose when you go to sell in the far future, you'd change the property back? 

It has been a game changing tool for me.

Once that's set, it's really not a super difficult thing to run--the biggest deal for most people is needing to be married to your phone in a way that other RE investments don't require, because you always have to be able to answer inquiries and accept bookings, and if you're not fast enough, people will often move on to other listings.You can definitely self-manage properties remotely, but it is necessary to have some kind of boots-on-the-ground help, whether for maintenance or even just helping guests with occasional issues that pop up (confusion about TV cable box remotes, etc.).

Nearby Rural: Limited development might mean slower changes to the landscape but potentially fewer surprises.

Just made the change on Vrbo and Airbnb,  but We have families vacationing at our properties and it costs so little compared to my rental rates.I have nor rented a place because they didn't have satellite TV or cable.

and it currently has "wall/window AC" that looks horrible (old style, dirty, randomly located like under the window or high above the window) so really bad for marketing the unit in STR platforms.I want to change them ASAP!! 

Observation of the plumber: it was connected to a public sewer but it was changed without permit.
