I’m thinking of buying, house hacking a residential house that has a basement; turning that basement into an apartment to do air bnb for ski season, renting upstairs to a permanent resident.

Furthermore, we have been having copious amounts of issues with Homeaway and getting paid this year as well as increased competition in our ski markets with many new owners charging rates that in my mind are way to low so they can get a booking.So, while I do not expect take a massive percentage of our bookings this way I do think it would be helpful and professional to offer this service to the more budget minded or savvy traveler.

Sure enough, within a month of my purchase some of the larger developers in town released a Big Sky 2025 plan which included over $150 million in infastructure at the public ski resort and other private establishments in town pledged bringing the number up to $1billion in local infastrcuture investments.

This scneario can seem like a win win for a pre-foreclosure seller you bring arears current (bla bla) close on buying sub to, letting the tenant stay in the house post closing on the hand shake deal they will move out ASAP.
