Without a plan for how to make our money work for us, we would inevitably become those parents telling their children to "save more" because that's all we ever knew!

Congratulations on the two rentals in Canada, my parents live in Wisconsin and the land up north is beautiful.  

(I told her I'd sign it once she takes care of the problems to make it acceptable to live in) I am now moving out just after 4 months of terror.Here is my next major issue; I gave my landlord my 30 days notice the moment I found out we were moving into my fiance's parent's house, which is being passed down.

I grew up with real estate investor parents who own many successful 4-plexes and single family home rentals.

I grew up in Oak Park and my parents still live there.

I have a neighbor who lost both parents a few months ago and is now clearing out the parents' former home.

I do donate approx 5 weeks a year to charity auctions so I'm losing some time of potential rent.

My wife and I are contemplating buying a home for our parents who are in the UK and in their 70s but rent and the uncertainty of whether their rent will increase, their landlord will sell etc.. is starting to cause them significant concern.
