@Wayne Brooks your explanation is what I would expect but I keep reading on various lawyer web sites that the transfer tax is 7% of the current mortgage which for a 150k mortgage is 10,500, which is just nutz!

I’ve expanded my sources of leads, but that’s a longer term project as when we establish new sources we become swamped with submissions of deals bearing no relation to our published criteria; at risk levels a river boat gambler wouldn’t touch, or flat out the source just shotgunning whatever crap comes across his desk, without even reading the documentation.

I see the discussion, but it's talking about the amount "Jim" can take for the next loan, not anything about the time period between when one loan is paid off and the time until he can request a new loan.Asking more out of curiosity, I would be surprised if John Hancock had something incorrect posted on our retirement plan web page.
