Some alternatives might be to enlist a parent to co-sign with you on your first house.After that, you could move out if that house, turn it into a rental, and you are more on your way… you can buy your next house to live in with 3-5% down again.  

I enlisted the help of a buyer's agent, it was marketed as-is, so we negotiated with improvement costs reductions instead of asking for seller to fix any items.

And yes, I will be enlisting a QL very soon.The brewery startup will be about $1.5M whether I buy a building and build out, or buy a small piece of land and construct a building on it.

Re-enlist out of fear or sell everything just to stay afloat due to lack of travel? 

I am assuming you are close to base since you are still active; a lot of officers and/or enlisted would love to room together.
