Also, I’m pretty new to this but I’m assuming you’d have to have an LLC in place to accept hard money or money from private lenders?

I generally recommend if you're not going to buy a property in the city/market where you currently live, the next best place to look is where you have family (and presumably a place that you'll visit relatively often and easily).What is your price point and are you looking for turn-key properties or something along the lines of a "fixer upper", assuming you buy in Peoria or a similar priced Midwest market?

As the above paragraph says they assume you may have UNINTENTIONALLY discriminated, so the burden of proof is largely on your shoulders. 

On the other hand, don't assume they were screwing you.

I assume a higher upfront cost as far as land purchase and the actual build but you would have a brand new house, instant equity and hopefully maintenance free for quite a while.

Hey @Guan Hong Guo - yes combined income *assuming* all adults are on the lease (as they should be if they're residing in your property).

I assumed that shopping around for the best interest rate would be good enough.

I'm hoping things move a little more quickly once things go vertical as I heard getting slab poured is the longest wait but I'm assuming there is a labor/material shortage in general in the area so wasn't sure of people's timelines once slab has been poured?
