Accusing people wrongly is pretty serious.

Yes, you are correct, more money is wasted but when the bank takes it back, and then sells on the open market, they eliminate anyone ever coming back and accusing them of insider dealing to the detriment of the borrower or borrower's estate.Better in my opinion to just watch the property and let the bank foreclose, buy it at foreclosure sale.

So, someone might accuse you of being dishonest trying to convince a seller to wholesale the house through you.
