I finished parole 6 years ago. so my question is this:  Before i spend money on an education and real estate licensure, is there any way for me to be denied on the basis of that felony.

Long story short the underwriter found out and denied my mortgage at the 11th hour.

Yes it can protect you, but so can paying someone to drive you everywhere in a bus with you as the only passenger.
