That sounds like one of those Vegas stories where someone claims someone stole their money out of the hotel safe when the reality was they gambled it away when drunk and forgot all about it.I don't think all those threats are helpful, though. 

I’ve seen this done several times (on TV, less than 1% of us have basements in vegas.).

These are great for weekend visitors from New Orleans and Florida who come here to gamble (12 casinos).  

I have been doing investing here in Las Vegas now for 5 years.

I was living in Vegas and that market took a huge hit.

Same thing with the “cure”.An example would be you need a permit for a water heater in Vegas.  

I think Las Vegas was a test market.

At the Great Recession residential cash flow fell in many markets (Detroit, Vegas as 2 extreme examples). - there are many markets like mine that have never not experienced appreciation over any period of 8 years or more.
