However, my wife and I "flipped" her mothers house a year ago, after she passed away,  and I saw the value of the process and how it can make money.

My mother passed away a year and a half ago and left me some money and I am going to use that to start.

My mother is an agent, and my dad has had a rental property for years, so I decided to get in on the action when I moved here to Atlanta for my PhD.

@Wayne Brooks Thanks for your feedback Wayne, the son does in fact have the title to the back parcel, this was transferred to him some years before his mother passed away.

I also had to declare personal bankruptcy in 2011 because of the divorce and the balance of that short sale.Fast forward 4 years, I am remarried, my wife and I had a house that was owned by her mother,  she let us use the equity in the house to rehab it and put it in our name. 

I was thinking of doing a similar thing with my mother-in-law's distressed property, but with this I would just take over mortgage payments.When I sat down to do that math, her mortgage was like 1200/ month (rounded) with only about 300 principal/ 100 interest/ 100 taxes.

These are people relocating to the area, tech workers, traveling nurses, family visiting from other countries that want to stay longer than a typical hotel stay, etc..  

Hello BP, I'm a recent ovarian cancer survivor, mother of 2, who lost almost everything in a year, fighting to regain my Financial independence, by way of flipping houses and real estate investments.

I have "rehabbed" two of my own homes, built a home, and " fix & flipped" my mother-in-laws house when she passed away.

I'm a  wife to a fantastic husband who keeps me leveled and mother to a sweet baby girl who every day reminds me why I do what I do!
