The only time I'd like condos is if I owned the whole darn condo complex :) I could also see the case for a condo in the urban core or near major amenities as a short-term furnished rental, but that is not my style personally.

That's not to say that you shouldn't teach them the right way to lend money(escrowing funds and providing the funds to you after you provide receipts and proof work was completed properly)...You are probably talking more about hard money lenders...
