I knew very little and less than I thought, I got ripped by a plumber and electrician but I learned A LOT and made money.

Electrician 

plumbers, electricians and handymen. 

I have built a list of contacts I have worked with like plumber, handyman, electrician, etc. and call them whenever a tenant reports something.

If there is a minor repair they will pick up the phone and call a plumber, painter, electrician etc.

If you want to own rentals then no degree needed, I would argue you’d actually be better off working as a contractor, Carpenter, plumber, electrician, home inspector etc. and working on properties for a few years to learn about construction and how to assess a buildings condition as well as how to rehab and maintain a property correctly.

In my opinion, when you find something you enjoy and have a passion for it you work harder at it, rather it is real estate, auto repair, medical or an electrician.

That Being said, Im an Electrician, and enjoy building stuff so this just seems like the best choice as I approach My mid 40’s.Now to learn how to 10X this stuff so we can achieve being Time Rich!

Once you have some experience dealing with the issues that come up, and through your rental you have developed some relationships with contractors, electricians, plumbers, lenders, etc., then think about a flip.
