After settlement we did the routine home inspection and found that the previous owner did not keep the places up much and it surprised me that people were still willing to live in these homes even though they did not appear safe (after actually being inside them).

@Ryan Pozzi - sometimes, depending on the deal, and especially the size of the deal (single family vs multi family) you can make a cash offer and in the amount of time it takes to get to settlement, close with lender financing.

Everything was perfect I started picking out furniture and paint and 2 weeks before settlement the underwriter said” she felt I didn’t deserve the credit score that I had” and would not sign off on the loan.
