My sense is that Ames is 10-25% more expensive to get into for comparable houses/neighborhoods in the Des Moines area, but the university makes demand really high in Ames.I don't have much experience investing out of state, so that's the extent of my ability to weigh in, best of luck!

The numbers work, but I dont have that kind of cash to start-out.As such, as far as markets, I look for small cities and suburbs of bigger cities where I can find some combo diverse businesses with large offices or factories and/or contain or are near to a couple colleges or universities.
