Also be aware that if you are planning to furnish the rooms and market as STRs, Dallas in particular issues a separate occupancy tax for that.

In northern areas, or where it is very humid, it is a much bigger deal than say in the the Dallas, TX area, where it doesn't get "that" cold (normally or for long spells) and it is not really that humid compared to places along the gulf or East/West coasts.Hope that helps!
