You don’t get registered for SEC 8 exactly, but you can contact the local Housing Authority to put your location on their available housing list and to schedule a landlord orientation, if they hold them in your market.

I think this happens for a couple reasons:-There are many people who believe their way is the "only" way to do it, and speak with such authority that it sounds and reads as if it were a fact.

The lender won't even talk to you unless you have an "authorization to release information" signed by the borrower (and sometimes notarized.)
