The 8 hour sleeping period is not appropriate for most people and it was actually "invented" during the industrial revolution when they decided to divide the day into thirds: one for work, one for play, and one for sleep.Sleeping is not entirely understood but there is a lot of research on it and it is widely believed that it helps with learning and physical recovery.

The exit strategy is key and something that needs to be understood on the front end.

@Dean Dutro Even one has good points on this discussion.Some thoughts from what I understood from folks who have accomplished FI...In general if you have 10 times your expenses saved up. 

My one little tidbit is to not expect anything to be an "understood." 

We understood what he's saying, but what's he's saying is irrelevant.
