Medical is big here with 3 large hospitals as well as Education with the very popular Tyler Junior College, a branch of UT (Ut Tyler Campus), as well as Texas College.

The banks state over and over again that they cannot do long term loans in commercial because in coming years they have to draw customers into the branch and will be paying out higher interest rates on CD, savings, and checking to make yield.

They can deposit at the local branch (without the routing number).  

Some of the national companies that have been comfortable are becoming a bit less so on a local branch basis.

I'd also suggest a partner to begin with, once you figure out who's on the up and up branch out.

So far I’ve self educated myself from literature, BiggerPockets forum of other newbies asking questions and even friends and Facebook but I’d love to see if there is possibly a way to branch out from my comfort zone and biggerpockets definitely has way more access to all the pros.

@Tom Ott - yes - this company does all the renovations and they have a property management branch.  

I have a couple rental properties and i want to start branching out into multifamily and rehabs.

I can not find good deals in Nyc the 2 unit homes are $450K-up, so i figured branch out.
