It's a gamble - rates have not been getting better unfortunately, they seem to keep getting worse.  

I'm assuming at this point, based on my new lower numbers, I would simply be moving from RE investor to speculator/gambler on property value appreciation...as i would likely only breaking even or taking negative cash flow until significant appreciation occurs.looking forward to any creative ideas!

I think...No Interest rate for a decade, QE after QE for a decade...worldwide.  

I'm a physician and that's all we do (spoiler alert, we are all gamblers in the medical game - first we try not to hurt someone, and then we take our best guess as to what will do the most good while minimizing the downside), it's just in a different form. 

Meanwhile there are some 45,000 publicly traded companies listed over 200 exchanges worldwide that options traders have to choose from.

@Chaim Rosenstadt  I'm assuming the underlying real estate assets are located in the US...If a US citizen is living abroad in a country that taxes worldwide income of residents, they should be checking if their resident country will allow a tax credit for US tax paid on the US based rental real estate property.The US foreign tax credit system is designed to provide relief for foreign tax paid on foreign source income.
