I think the point is being missed...it's not that a Spreadsheet is bad in an of itself, it's the fact that many people don't understand the inputs, results and the whys behind it for the most part, You can make a spreadsheet read whatever you want to directly or indirectly.I'd be much more attuned to those like @Triston Murray who understood or figured out the whys and whats and then assembled a spreadsheet to help him quantify his analysis vs using a pre-formatted fancy spreadsheet and know nothing about the whys or whats.

So you end up wedging or replacing with smaller cabinets that ends up with some awkward spaces.2) The labor to assemble and install the IKEA stuff is more than a custom cabinet solution so our labor costs went up to compensate for the complexity.3) You frequently end up with missing parts or a busted corner on some of your pieces which requires returns.4) #2 and #3 extend the time it takes to install your cabinets.

If it's my money and I am not going to tie it up until the end of time and then go through the torture of getting it back.When I worked for a developer assembling land for commercial projects the buyers attorney or buyer would ALWAYS hold the earnest money or a neutral third party would.
