In learning any trade, art, craft, or skill, it's pleasant to have people to cheer you on.

Watch out for neighborhoods, usually without homeowners associations, where neighbors don't take care of their yards and consequently make it harder to rent your property.

Do we let the tenant push us around like this without consequence?  

You see I come from a hands on trade (tool and die maker) and now have a desk job (Engineer) and enjoy both.

I agree the trade-off here would be higher turnover costs and more wear and tear on the property.
