If you have more properties in a concentrated area, you can have more influence.  

State legislators are not difficult to influence and there's lots of landliords you can mobilize.

@Dan Heuschele I'm sure everyone can see neither of us will influence the other. 

Therefore; if you are decorating a home using the influence of Mid Century Modern, or Modern, you wouldn't need to be as careful, but would be looking more toward getting that vibe, with new colors and furnishings that are currently popular but influenced by that era. 

eg, the listing agent may have more control/influence over rents realized, whereas the prop mgr may have more control/influence over the occupancy rate 

I don't expect all  Canadians would operate the same just that operating in Canada will influence your perspective somewhat. 

People will leave when it suits them but you can try to at  least influence timing.

This influences my philosophy. 

It is just that market cycles run past presidential terms and are influenced by many factors.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, that really will influence what you do with your property.
