tell them without returning the lease that their apartment will go month to month, proper notice to vacate is xxx days and must be written delivered, and rent rate will increase for month to month to XXX.. or just say we don't do month to month so sign or give your notice.. because were not renewing..Honestly I believe your wife made an error in pre-signing anything on that lease , the lease originator is the last to sign.. not the leasee.. to easy for them to change the document.Best is always to meet face to face.A lease does not need to be signed on every page unless it specifies that..
