Queens prices can vary tremendously from one end of the boro to the other.3 beds will run anywhere from $1500 in Jamaica to several thousands in LIC.  

IMO...only get houses that are at least 2 bed 1 bath.

•Make Beds: In case you are in a habit of leaving home each morning for work without having made your beds, you are in trouble.

I used to rent a flat bed utility trailer, had a guy rent it and bend the frame because he overloaded it.

Craigslist is a hot bed of scammers so take precautions.

Some rooms are too small for even a king bed or dressers.- Large closets - walk in is even better- 2+ bathrooms - New carpet- Modern appearance (paint, flooring, light fixtures, etc)- Garage ideal but if not a garage then off street parking- Cleanliness and overall good repair.

It had a kitchen, bathroom, shower and a living room with a lofted space for a bed. 

Also, furnishing a room helps a ton, even if it's just a bed.
