I left my previous job in the Tech world in search for adventure (found a sailing boat) and have just made my first single home purchase in order to get my hands dirty and learn by doing and most possibly messing up a few times.

Depending on the county you're interested in, I would search that county's site for a tax calculator and enter purchase prices and townships to get an idea of the bill.

I do have large commercial REIT's etc. where they handle everything and you just find them the property and I do search for them from time to time.
