I highly suggest you to read, "The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Real Estate Investing".

However, I don't want to get a bunch of posts in the tune of "Don't do it, that's scary/risky/not as profitable as/etc" As a beginner, I do need to be cautious and take advice.
