And you cannot just step in and resume making payments, but rather would need to pay the entire amount off plus accumulated interest and other fees.

For example lets say the property I bought went to the auction on September and I bought it 3 months later on December, would I have the pay the taxes that accumulated over those 3 months while it was on the strike off list plus the minimum bid?

Also worth further mentioning, is unspoken in all of this is that I have accumulated equity in my portfolio via debt pay down (most of my loans are 20 year vs 30) and value appreciation (and forced appreciation through the rehabbing / fix up).
