We hired an SEO company for organic search results, but while waiting for this to kick in, I started my own Google Adwords campaign.

It requires a HUGE effort (and/or some money paid for a service) to do all the things necessary to KEEP your site in the high rankings.Great SEO in the page itself will continue to work, however.  

Our 2 biggest marketing channels are website using Seo and pay per click, and direct mail.

@Trevor Mauch I get what you're saying in regards to the value being derived from lead conversion and SEO.

A few pieces of advice.1..Get a .com address if you can.2..Understand that unless you want to spend money on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and advertising (Google Ad words etc.) you are probably not going to dominate, at least not initially.

Those sites can be difficult to rank for top keywords in your area (for several SEO reasons).I would recommend Wordpress becasue it's free and you will have a much better CMS to add and manage your content.

Go to barns and noble and pickup books on marketing, online marketing, social media marketing, network marketing, SEO etc.

It starts with he website, and do some building of your online presence and maybe a little seo here and there also.You have to be found online if you want to build any brand locally. 

Or is that not reasonable to expect.Thanks in advance for helping a relative SEO/Website newb!
