It just lasts a short while, nonetheless...nasty.We don't usually get inspections so we look for aluminum wiring; patched spots, fake vents etc around plumbing stacks to indicate prior termite treatments and ......what do you look for?

Hi all, I was looking at a $80k house that's in OK shape except for a hole in the one of the ceiling and an odd small patch of mold in a damp spot in the basement stairwell, not a from a leaky pipe in a ceiling.

All they had to do once it was set on the foundation was tie it all in together, patch in the roof and the siding, and fix some interior paint and drywall cracks.

@Chinmay J.1927, I replaced the original wood windows in the upper unit, all the knob and tube that was left in the house, and refinished most of the original hardwoods, I had to patch some of the floors with new pine because it was termite damaged.

If it was a basic renovation, then $900-$950.Had a quick look at permits and there seems to have been a couple of roof patches in 2006 and 2008 but not full replacement, so you would want to verify that.
