One thing I've found is that at least the Nest, and possibly other "connected" thermostats, get software updates pushed to them from the manufacturer.  

Incomes are strong.We aren't tied to a single manufacturing company like may be the case in more rural areas.

I find warranties on new appliances are generally useless as the manufacturer knows the likely hood they will fail in the warranty period is unlikely.

We work with manufactured housing quite a bit - our President and CEO, Dave, originally created Rent Manager to assist his family's park over 30 years ago.

It is amazing at how much some Manufactured Homes / Mobile Homes cost in Parks where the lot rent is anywhere from $300-600 per month.

In areas such as southern California where we have perfect year round weather, all of the Forbes list companies have offices, high tech, low tech, manufacturing, medical centers, universities galore, amusements, sports venues, zoos, beaches, etc. there is ALWAYS going to be a high demand, thus higher prices.
