The legal system in Illinois is set up to work against the honest landlord and work for those that dont pay, lie, cheat, and steal.

As an agent, I'm sure you already know this, Danny, but for the rest of the newer investors out there that don't have experience in this business, it's worth mentioning that -- more times than not -- when someone says, "We'll be making an offer," or "I love this house, I'll be calling my agent today to write up an offer," you won't be getting an offer.It's not that they're lying to you or trying to deceive you...it's just that once they walk away and actually have time to think about the MAJOR step of putting in an offer, there's a lot that can get in the way.

If he passes all of your requirements and has been working at his job for a long time and seems stable, i may consider it; its good you used credit report to compare addresses cuz thats where i usually find out whos lying. how do you feel about this guy in general though?

I also filed a Detainer Action this morning to start the eviction process since they have not paid October rent.I don't think I've ever met anyone that lies and talks so aggressively as this person.

Obviously, where that line lies would be debated to a different point by everyone.
