Also be aware that the HELOC payment will add debt to your DTI which could influence qualifying for future mortgages.

I get that.What is most disappointing about the video to me, is that Brandon Turner and Bigger Pockets have much influence over the decisions of others.

Because it won't just be your kids, it will be their spouses influencing them and their kids influencing them and most of them arguing between themselves. 

Next, consider that with your lack of understandings this guy is in a position of influence over you and what he is telling you is "ehtically and financially" beneficial goes completly unchecked without challange as it plays on your basic desire to profit.
