If it were apparent to me that they weren't going to retrieve the stuff I'd have my attorney serve notice to them pursuant to the civil code section that governs abandoned personal property after an eviction (the language of the notice is very specific) and follow the procedure to auction the stuff.Now, I just described what I would do.

You can do Joint Ventures or do the "one off" on your own and it doesn't require the paperwork and procedures required if you are both in one LLC.
