You could check out Zillow or Craig’s list to see if any properties are listed or if you see any rentals give the owner a call and tour the home.

I toured a pre-market house today and would like to put an offer in, however this house I will be purchasing with a partner.My partner has never purchased a house before, and would like to purchase this as a primary residence in order to get all of the benefits associated with this.This means that I will not be on the deed or the mortgage.

Bigger properties, it is more common to set one or two tour days.Think about from the tenant and seller perspective: if they list on the MLS, they are going to get a lot of "tire kickers", and they will want tours convenient to them.

To increase the value of your property (other than adding square footage), my recommendation is to really analyze (and tour if possible), what your potential comparable homes look like.
