My thinking is that because amortized mortgages are front loaded with interest, buying isn't necessarily better than renting if you are uncertain about your short term residency plans like I've been.

If the property and title are good, the only issue could be the need for a qick sale, unusual and watch out when a seller says he needs to sell today, but there can be situations where the owner won't have time to sell for top dollar. :)
