Personally, I come from a technology background serving in various roles from technician to director.

I think Hickory, NC is starting to do well with technology and many "green" related companies as well.

I have multiple opinions for JLL's best brokers and Colliers about wha to do but its all over the board about getting in now or waiting.I think the market for a small guy like me is to find ( some state) and look for class C or B properties under rented and use new technology to get it more operational and leased up + strong SEO marketing to drive traffic.  

Also, with all the technology today, finding comps is simple.

Hello Everyone,It had always been a dream of mine to be a Real Estate Investor/Developer, but somewhere along the line life just got in the way and it never came to fruition.I do have a fairly decent knowledge base to start building upon though.I received an Associates degree in Construction Technology and a Bachelors degree in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University back in 2001.

I don't see public protection schemes being replaced by unlicensed technology. 

It can be improved upon as laws and technology change.

Unless you really need to see my mug in the flesh, technology opens up clients and firms outside your local region.

@Eric La Pratt was nice enough to invite me a few months ago to this PM's anniversary party and I was really impressed with their operation, I thought it was a great efficient setup and they had built technology to adjust the nightly rate based on hotel bookings and events going on in Chicago.
