There are good recommendations regarding websites to find VAs as well as tips on how to hire, train and what to expect.  

I have hired VAs on an hourly basis and never seem to get the results I get when I charge based on results.  

Not sure if you have found a VA to help with our campaigns, however I have worked with a number of VAs that do the grunt work of setting up direct mail campaigns for investors and most of the time they need permission before making any decisions since it involves money.
