Wondering what BP'ers think of the newly proposed BC Speculation Tax?

I would be selling it asap.Your only upside is speculating on appreciation but keep in mind you will need to supplement your tenants rent to make it work.$470 K in equity is costing you lost opportunity income of $3900/month (10% value).

I'm not in that market, so that's speculation and/or what I'd be looking into.

Speculation may tip the balance for me, but the actual decisions are made with the actual numbers at hand, not speculation.

. :)People from out of area speculating on Texas Tech & providing WAY too much student housing caused this & trickled down to all rentals.

It is estimated current price at $635k which easily could go for $650k (just speculation).

Speculating here-- Does one side of the duplex get more exposure to the street?

We have also built custom homes and did some land speculation.

And still had all the 'Open House" signs in the basement.The good news is that with each failed flip some speculator is out of the game.
