I do a good bit of long distance real estate investing and I am considering going into as new area. 

I learned about them from a Rent to Retirement podcast where they interviewed a former W2 FT sales guy in tech (that's me today...) turn real estate investor.

I've done the one on one thing for a while now but for a lot of reasons (timing, paperwork, reliability, etc.), it's not ideal.

This does pose a challenge since that real estate is a lot more expensive than if you go more west and south.

I’m a super eager wannabe real estate investor, my largest barrier is my lack of start up funding.

The bigger brokerages usually focus more on Retail sales then teaching you the ins and outs of Real Estate investing.
