We are a consumer society.

Put another way...society says to go to college, get a job, work up the corporate ladder, and retire at 65 with social security benefits. 

I found the process of rehabbing this junk house and turning it into a nice place to live, extremely rewarding, so I want rehabbing homes to be central to my plan, and building a business around that seems to pay well while providing a valuable contribution to society.

It was HL Mencken who observed that in our society, high-status occupations tends to end in -or and low-status occupations end in -er, as in, doctor, professor, actor versus plumber, driver, cleaner.

So the purchaser's perception of his/her "personal obligation" may be different from his/her actual situation in relation to the debt via an LLC.

Bring the perception from the house needing a "Full-Gut Job" to "Update". 

One thing to consider is optics/perception from your chain of command.

I hate how "society" nowadays tries to tell women that they NEED to put career first even if they want a family, because it's the exact opposite of the right way to go about it given biological reality.
