I'm from about an hour away, closer to Madison. 

I even made a post on BP to see what lenders out there (in Wisconsin) accept second mortgages, which is how I connected with another great lender (@Nicholas Vandervelde) from First National Bank near Madison. 

Madison, Ferndale, Fraser, Roseville, SCS.If you are a Westsider: Westland, Garden City, maybe Redford if you feel good about the neighborhood and its a turnkey property.Also, with the Brush Park Development happening don't be afraid to save your nickels and pre-purchase during Phase I...Also don't be afraid to cut your house into a couple different units.

I bought mine in Madison and Rankin counties in Mississippi... these did not get devesated like the Gulf shore but because the storm affected the whole state in some way they extended it inland as there was wind damage up there.. but that is as far inland as the program went.

I doubt anyone even knows what they are here or has ever heard of them.. newbies buying rentals in the mid west soon learn though   and yes it happens in most all price points... although with my A class in the best parts of Jackson MS  IE Madison and RAnkin county I have never caged one and one has never gotten stolen.. on my C and B class in Jackson ( I had over 200 of those babies) they were stolen with great frequency whether they were caged or not..
