I think you need to look at your finances like a reality TV show.

I have the goal of supporting a decently leisurely lifestyle (but not extravagant) at some point in the next 10 years and helping other people reach their goals.

It is literally like Judge Judy court - in fact, Judge Judy court on TV is an actual CA Small Claims Court (rules of law changed a bit for TV appeal).  

Utilities were included and the living areas were furnished (i.e. couch, TV, kitchen table).

I think they originally owned a tv repair shop, later got into computers and networking, and off and on were in the car business.

She is obsessed with "fix and flip" reality TV and I'll admit it's entertaining to watch sometimes. 

Those flip margins on TV are best case scenario and do not show commission costs for resale, seller concessions paying buyer closing costs, failed deals that re-trade lower after the shows, and higher dealer taxes on flipping.     

Most parts of the country have a few strong regional carriers that provide more competitive rates and broader coverage that the carriers you see on TV every other commercial.

One that really gets me is a tenant took the tv in a furnished place and was adamant that it was his and there wasn’t one there on move in.
